WAYNE NEWTON:
"USO Will Go to Troops in Europe"
Las
Vegas, USA -- Wayne
Newton, Chairman of the USO's Celebrity Circle, declared he would lead a tour of
entertainers to perform for NATO
troops in Europe.
The announcement came
only hours after news of Russian attacks were being broadcast, although
Newton claimed arrangements for a tour had made weeks ago as tensions in
Europe were increasing and troop buildups were imminent.
The singer, known as
"Mr. Las Vegas", confirmed a number of celebrities were
already on board including singers/dancers "the Olsen Twins"
and 60-plus year old heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne (who provided a
phone interview with ENN that has yet to be interpreted).
Newton
stated many more entertainers would likely sign up with the tour now
that U.S. and NATO soldiers are actually in combat against Russian Union
Forces.

Wayne Newton's
relationship with the USO goes back to the very beginning of his singing
career. At age eight, Mr. Newton participated in a USO singing troupe
that performed for President Truman.
He returned to the USO stage twice
during the Vietnam War, in 1966 and 1968. He performed for nearly 25,000
military personnel aboard ships off Beirut in 1983, soon after the
bombing of the U.S. Marine Barracks.
In 1987, he embarked on his fourth
USO tour, performing aboard ships in the Persian Gulf and Mediterranean,
and appeared in the region again at concerts in Afghanistan.
His
most recent tour was a short lived series of dates in 2008 during the
Brunei Conflict that pitted U.S. Forces against Malaysian invaders.
